About The Excellence Award


The Excellence in Club Management AwardTM, co-sponsored by McMahon Group and Club & Resort Business magazine, is an annual award that recognizes private club general managers, managers and chief operating officers who have exhibited outstanding skills in managing their club.

An award is selected in each of the following three categories:

*Country/Golf Clubs with 600 or More Full-Privilege Members
*Country/Golf Clubs with Under 600 Full-Privilege Members
*City, Athletic or Specialty (Non-golf) Clubs of All Types

Eligibility

To be eligible for the award, a club manager must be nominated by another party. Each nomination must include a completed Official Nomination Form and a letter of endorsement for the current president (or past president) of that club or a current board member of that club that employs the candidate. Information submitted is limited to the nine page form and the president's letter of support.

Each candidate must be a member of the Club Managers Association of America, the National Club Association, the Canadian Society of Club Managers or any international association of club managers.

Award recipients will be selected based solely on their achievements at the club they currently manage. Lifetime achievements, while worthwhile, are not the focus of this award.



About The Rising Star Award



The Rising Star Award, sponsored by McMahon Group and Club and Resort Business magazine is an annual award that recognizes assistant club managers who have exhibited outstanding skills in assisting their general managers.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the 2009 Rising Star Award, an assistant manager must be nominated by his or her club/general manager. Each nomination must include a completed, Official Nomination Form and a letter of endorsement from the club/general manager.

Award recipients will be selected based solely on their achievements at the club they currently serve.

All nominees will be notified in writing of their nomination for the award. The winner will be determined by the 2008 Award Selection Committee based upon the nomination material supplied by the proposer.

The deadline for nominations is October 30, 2009. The winner will be announced in fall of 2009. A representative from McMahon Group and Club and Resort Business magazine will travel to the recipient's club to present the award. Candidates who are not selected for the award will receive a certificate recognizing their nomination.

All nominees will be notified in writing of their nomination for the award.

Winners will be determined by the 2009 Award Selection Committee. McMahon Group and Club & Resort Business magazine are not involved in the judging and selection of the winners.
